These buses were the TTC’s first low-floor accessible buses in the 40-foot fleet. They were purchased as part of a demonstration/test of the new low-floor technologies. Concerns over the loading of the rear wheels caused the buses to be grounded from September 1998 through to February 1999, when they were retrofitted with different wheel assemblies.
